Davis Riley to win Wyndham Championship
1.5pts each-way 14-1 bet365, Betfred
Afternoon storms brought a premature end to the second round of the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club on Friday, although all of those who will complete their rounds are closer to the cut line than the top of the leaderboard.
The second round will resume at 11.45am UK & Ireland time.
At the top, it’s all to play with the top 24 separated by just four shots. Americans Ryan Moore and Brandon Wu are part of a three-way tie for the lead alongside South Korea’s Joo-Hyung Kim at nine under par, but the contenders are stacked up behind the trio.
Kim’s compatriot Sungjae Im, a two-time PGA Tour winner, is one shot back and shares 9-2 favouritism with the co-leader. Russell Henley, another player at eight under, is 11-2 with Wu 11-1 and Moore 12-1 chances.
The top six in the betting is completed by the talented Davis Riley who, bar a double-bogey at the 11th, looked extremely solid in round two.
The 25-year-old would be tied for the halfway lead had he instead signed for a par on that hole and there have been more positives than negatives about the American’s play this week.
Riley has picked up six shots on the two par-fives already, which bodes extremely well if he can minimise the drop shots elsewhere.
No two-ball prices for the third round were available on Saturday morning due to the delay in completing the second round.
