Ons Jabeur goes up against Anett Kontaveit at the 2021 Western Southern Open on Tuesday August 17, 2021. Ons Jabeur won the match.
World #1 Iga Swiatek is the favorite for this week’s WTA National Bank Open, which begins on Monday from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Swiatek is looking to capture her seventh title of the season, and currently boasts odds to win of +260. She’s followed by Ons Jabeur at +1100, and group of women including Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff, and Simona Halep at +1200.
Swiatek has won all four 1000 Series tournaments she’s played so far this season, which are typically the biggest tennis betting events outside of the Grand Slams. She’s only a month removed from a 37-match winning streak and is a very deserving favorite. However, she’s by no means a slam dunk to take him this title. Swiatek has never won a U.S. Open Series tournament and her quarter of the draw features four Grand Slam champions.

Shifting our attention to the Round 1 matchups, we’ll find a quality betting opportunity in the Sloane Stephens vs Sofia Kenin match.

Kenin, the 2020 WTA Player of the Year, is a shell of her former self. She’s spent the bulk of 2022 battling illness, injury and a separation from her coach, and went four and a half months without swinging a racquet.
She finally returned for an exhibition match two weeks ago, which she lost 6-1, 6-2 to Coco Gauff, and was bounced last week in Round 1 in her official return at the Citi Open.
Kenin hasn’t won a match since the first week of January, bowing out in the opening round in six straight tournaments.

Her opponent Stephens has also been struggling with three straight Round 1 exits, but a return to the hard court is just what the doctor ordered.
All seven of Stephens’ career titles have come on hard court, including her victory in Guadalajara earlier this year. She was a finalist at this event in 2018, after reaching the semi-final the year before.
Pick: Sloane Stephens -2.5 (-125)

The next Round 1 matchup we’re targeting features defending champ Camila Giorgi and Emma Raducanu. Giorgi enters after a disappointing opening round exit at Wimbledon, but prior to her short stay at the All-England Club the 29th ranked player in the world posted a semi-final and quarter-final appearance in back-to-back tournaments.

Giorgi’s posted victories over a pair of top-eight women in the world (Aryna Sabalenka and Garbine Muguruza) over the past few months, and beat four top-25 opponents en route to victory last year in Montreal.
Raducanu meanwhile, is getting set to defend her U.S. Open title next month. She’s fresh off a quarter-final appearance at the Citi Open, but she’s failed to reach the semis in any event since her shocking Grand Slam triumph.

She’s bowed out in her first or second match of a tournament in nine of the past 12 events she’s entered and hasn’t beaten a top-45 opponent in 2022.
Look for that trend to continue in Round 1 as Giorgi pulls off the upset.
Pick: Camila Giorgi Moneyline (+105)
World number 5 Jabeur’s odds are much more attractive in the outright market, and her side of the draw is very favorable. Third seed Maria Sakkari will be her toughest foe before the final and she’s beaten her twice in three meetings.
The Wimbledon runner-up has reached the final in five of the past eight tournaments she’s entered, winning twice.
Pick: Ons Jabeur to Win (+1100)
