The 2023 edition will be the tournament’s 47th edition and is one of the five PGA Tour tournaments given invitational status. Jack Nicklaus, who grew up in the north Columbus area, has hosted the tournament since its inception.
Seven-time PGA Tour winner Billy Horschel is the defending champion after earning a four-shot victory, the largest of his career as his The Memorial Tournament Predictions are high, over Aaron Wise last season. Scottie Scheffler Memorial Tournament picks are high as he returns to Muirfield Village for the third time in his career after not teeing it up in 2022. Scheffler posted a T22 in 2020 and a solo third in 2019. The PLAYERS champion has put together three-straight finishes inside the top 5.
Jon Rahm, the golf standings no. 2 ranked player in the world and 2020 Memorial winner, is back to see if he can find the magic again. Rahm, who had a commanding lead a season later before having to withdraw after his third round due to a positive COVID test, added a T10 here last year.
Patrick Cantlay is another name to watch this week. The two-time winner (2019, 2021) has made nine-straight cuts, with six of those finishes coming in the top-10.
