Wanderers are back at the UniBol as they take on League Two side Salford City in the opening round of the Carabao Cup.
The Whites enter the game on the back of an emphatic 3-0 win against Wycombe Wanderers thanks to Aaron Morley and a Kyle Dempsey brace.
Team news
Dion Charles remains sidelined after missing the win against Wycombe due to a thigh strain and is expected to miss several games.
Ian Evatt has no fresh injury concerns from the weekend, with Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove both set to feature for the B Team next week.
As for the visitors, Matthew Lund returns from suspension but Liam Shephard and Ash Eastham miss out due to injury.
Opposition lowdown
Former Manchester United youth coach Neil Wood took charge at Salford earlier this summer, succeeding Gary Bowyer.
The Ammies are currently seventh in the League Two table after picking up four points from their opening two matches.
Wood’s side enter the game on the back of a goalless draw against Swindon Town despite having a man advantage during the second half after Harry McKirdy was given his marching orders.
Head-to-head
Wanderers have only faced Salford twice in their history, winning on both occasions.
The Whites recorded a narrow 1-0 victory at the Peninsula Stadium back in April 2021, with Lloyd Isgrove getting the decisive goal.
And Evatt’s men ran out 2-0 winners when the sides last met at the UniBol in November 2020 thanks to Eoin Doyle and a Jordan Turnbull own goal.
