Motorsport fans can rejoice, as we have a jam-packed weekend of events, which includes the coveted Indy 500. While the IndyCar series may not have as many races throughout the year as some other motorsports, the Indy 500 is still arguably the biggest in the entire world. We’re expecting more than 300,000 fans at Indianapolis Motor Speedway this Sunday, so we should be in for a great race.
With such a high-profile event on the horizon, our experts have their Indy 500 predictions with odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Before our experts make any Indy 500 predictions, of course we’re locked into the qualifying order for the race, which we’ve also listed for you below:
It’s certainly worth noting that Palou set a pole record as well.
Like the qualifying order, making sure we’re aware of the weather forecast for the race is also a necessity before making our Indy 500 predictions. Thankfully, we look to be in for a great race day. In fact, the entire next week at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway looks beautiful. For Sunday specifically, we’re looking at a high of 80 degrees Fahrenheit, a low of 58 and no precipitation in sight. With race time at 12:45 PM ET, we’re looking at low-70′s with sunny skies.
Not only is the Indy 500 one of the biggest sporting events of the entire year, but it’s also one of the most fun and interesting to handicap. Firstly, Indianapolis Motor Speedway is both one of the fastest and widest tracks out there.
That means plenty of action, passing and opportunities for dramatic finishes. That also means it’s a great opportunity to take advantage of a driver not sitting on pole. Only one pole sitter has won the Indy 500 in the last 13 races, primarily due to the aforementioned factor of a wide track for plenty of passes. With that in mind, we’re focused on a driver with great value rather than the one with the lead spot for our Indy 500 predictions.
Our experts are focused on Takuma Soto, a driver that has won the Indy 500 twice before. So, he’ll be going for his third win, and three seems to be a bit of a lucky number for Soto.
He won his first two Indy 500′s three years apart in 2017 and 2020. Now in 2023, it only seems fitting that he’s destined to win his third. Similarly, Soto is also with his third racing team, as he won each of his first two Indy 500′s with two different teams. That demonstrates just how adaptable Soto is, which is essential at a track with so many changes from lap to lap.
While he’s not an extreme longshot, there’s great value on Soto to win (+1000) at FanDuel Sportsbook.
It’s entirely up to you if you want to roll with our Indy 500 predictions or not, but make sure you join FanDuel before making your pick. That’s because right now, all new members will instantly enroll in their latest sign-up offer for a $1,000 No Sweat First Bet.
