He resumed at the midweeks on the Kenso track and gee he was plain after seemingly getting every chance behind the speed when down the track behind Azula. The big key is Blinkers first time to sharpen him, so there is clear intent to win this race in order to get a JJ Atkins berth.

5 Vomo Island (Bet Now: $2.70) has done little wrong in a two start career for Team Snowden and is one of the key chances. He resumed at Canterbury at the midweeks when on speed and fought on pretty well in defeat behind a potentially top colt in Kandinsky Abstract. Tick over trial last week was a good piece of work and maps to get a sweet run in transit. Leading chance.

Long Shot

6 Matusalem (Bet Now: $5.50) is a juvenile I do have time for. Did more than enough on debut at Warwick Farm behind Namesake before going to Gosford where he got back and held up, but was pretty solid to the line without threatening behind Chrysaor. He is a horse who has a decent engine under the hood and certainly good enough to take this out.

8 Demitasse (Bet Now: $3.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order and should take beating against these. He resumed in a Highway at Gosford three weeks ago where he got a fair way back in the run and was held up at various stages but found the line quite well when second to Remlaps Commander. Unknown at 1400m but off the first up effort, it should be fine, and is the one with upside/progression.

5 Sungblue (Bet Now: $12.00) is back in positive form and commands respect. Wasn’t too bad in defeat two back at Newcastle before going to the Highway at Scone a fortnight back when on speed and kept fighting on in a pretty good effort behind Steplee, beaten a lip in a blanket finish. Back to 1400m is a big tick and with his racing style, he’ll give himself every chance.

Long Shot

6 Jalmari (Bet Now: $12.00) will likely spot them a statr but should be strong at the end I am sure. He ran four weeks back in the Highway here on testing ground and was pretty good from the back without threatening behind Bianco Vilano. He’s a very hard horse to catch and I can’t back him to win with confidence, but is one for wider multiples.

4 Crafty Eagle (Bet Now: $4.60) is a promising three year old for John Thompson that resumes. He did a really good job when last in work, winning two of four, ending last prep with a narrow second to Ripped in a Midway here over the mile. 1200m is short of his best but he has had two trials under the belt to get ready and will be strong late if they overdo it in front.

9 Moonlight Grace (Bet Now: $10.00) has to be given another chance. Loved the way she let down to win a Midway at Hawkesbury fresh before going to the Denise’s Joy at Scone where I thought she would measure up but she didn’t and was a bit on the plain side behind Red Card. Back to this level, off the fresh win, she has to be given another look.

Long Shot

5 Broken Arrows (Bet Now: $10.00) has upside and should be suited on the bigger track. He resumed three weeks ago at Gosford in the Midway and was pretty good late in the piece from off the speed when a narrow fourth to a promising horse, Turning. Rarely runs a bad race second up and you go back through his overall form, gee it reads well for this. Hard to beat.

This isn’t unusual for Anthony Cummings to throw one in the deep end but I do think he has a nice filly in the shape of 13 Burnett (Bet Now: $31.00). Drifter in betting when debuting over 1200m at Kembla but she gave them a start and a beating, rounding them up from last on the turn for a big win. Only has 52kg on her back, she’ll be strong late and is the one with enormous upside/progression.

2 Plundering (Bet Now: $6.50) is a promising three year old for Annabel Neasham that commands respect. Just missed out on the win fresh over 1000m before going to 1300m on the Kenso where he looked in a bit of trouble in the straight but once Schofield switched the whip with his hands, the horse found another gear and kicked hard to win. Has that 1300m run under the belt so that should hold him in good stead for this 1200m assignment.

7 Tashi (Bet Now: $6.50) is a well bred filly I have time for. She resumes for Team Snowden, having not raced since December 21 at Warwick Farm when taking on the Mares and kept finding the line, just missing out on the win when a narrow second to Bitcoin Baby. Loved the way she trucked in a recent trial and 1200m fresh tells me she’s ready to go. Hard to beat.

5 Air To Air (Bet Now: $5.50) did the right thing by us last Wednesday and happy to stick with her. Just struggled on the heavy ground two back at Rosehill before going to Warwick Farm last Wednesday where she got a 12/10 steer by Nash, saving ground nearer the inside before angling into clear air and was strong to the line in winning. Has run well at Saturday metro level previously and she strikes a winnable race.

7 Vienna Princess (Bet Now: $19.00) is a pretty good filly for Chris Waller that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since the Magic Millions F&M when far from disgraced in defeat behind Brookspire. She hasn’t been sneezed on in two trials and each time has looked really good, so I think she’ll run well fresh at 1400m. Just depends what the market does with her.

Long Shot

Fitter and up to 1400m are two big ticks for 10 One Aye (Bet Now: $34.00). Thrown in the deep end fresh in the Luskin Star at Scone two weeks back and just found them a bit rich when down the track behind a star filly, Opal Ridge. Good second up record and is much better suited at this level. Might want one more, but she has the quality to measure up.

19 Wrathful (Bet Now: $5.00) has looked a horse wanting more ground and he gets it here, so with that in mind, I am clearly in his corner. Forgive and forget the run two weeks ago at Scone. He was set an impossible task and just spotted those in front way too much head start, charging to the line late when a close up fourth to Miracle Spin. Love him up to 2000m and if he’s within range 400m out, he’ll be extremely hard to hold out.

3 Unspoken (Bet Now: $4.50) is a working progress for Team Snowden and is one of the leading chances. He was a hard luck tale at Hawkesbury two back when luckless behind Pretty Amazing. He then went to 1700m at Scone a fortnight back and was good in defeat despite laying in when second to Akasawa. Crying out for 2000m, he gets that here, and with a positive ride, he’s dangerous.

Long Shot

4 Estadio Mestalla (Bet Now: $6.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He did a really good job fresh at Hawkesbury behind Palmetto. He was kept very safe in betting two weeks back at Scone and was okay late without threatening behind Akasawa, beaten just under four lengths. Unknown at the trip but he’s racing like it will suit.

16 Kin (Bet Now: $3.60) has returned well IMO and can take this out. James Cummings trained filly that resumed over 1000m at Gosford three weeks ago where she was off the speed before being presented clear air and tried hard, but was no match late for a solid horse, Vowmaster. The end of 1100m is the slight knock, but with a soft run in transit, she’ll be dangerous at the end.

14 Iowna Merc (Bet Now: $3.70) is a quality three year old for Bjorn Baker that resumes. He hasn’t raced since December 24 at Randwick when producing an end of prep run, tiring late to be beaten just over three lengths by a pretty solid horse, Kalino. Loved the way he has went in a couple of trials and the 1100m set up fresh here is ideal, plus the stable is flying.

7 Soami (Bet Now: $17.00) can be hit and miss at times but with his best, he is certainly good enough to take out a race like this. He was met with a solid late market push two weeks back at Scone where he got a fair way back in the run and did make up some headway without threatening behind Comonic. Has the potential to settle closer and still be effective at the end.

I think 14 Pizarro (Bet Now: $7.50) is a good thing. First up in a likely fast run 1100m is a slight query but I am banking on the trials giving him a good grounding. You look at his form from last prep, it has Mariamia, Think About It, Cross Talk…that is Group l form, and he finds a very even sprint race. Latest trial was over 1050m and it was run in solid time, so I think that will hold him in good stead for this.

2 Titanium Power (Bet Now: $8.50) will jump on the bunny and prove hard to run down. Just needed the run fresh in the Gold Rush at Hawkesbury behind Malkovich before going to 1300m in the Luskin Star where he was leading and giving plenty of cheeky and was simply no match late for a star filly in Opal Ridge. He’s third up so he should be hard fit, good racing style…he’ll take beating.

Long Shot

9 The Face (Bet Now: $18.00) has been racing quite well without winning but he finds a race here where he can win. He was on speed three weeks back in the Takeover Target at Gosford and gave plenty of cheek but couldn’t quite finish it off when fifth to Think About It, beaten just under three lengths. Back to 1100m, hard fit, he’ll jump and run, proving hard to catch.

11 Written Beauty (Bet Now: $9.50) is flying and is knocking on the door to win. I think she gets her chance here. Several weeks between runs since contesting the Hawkesbury Crown where she didn’t quite get the rub of the green in the straight and only got warm late in the piece behind dominant winner and stablemate Princess Grace. Think 1400m on the big track is perfect, and combine that with a dry deck, she only runs well.

4 Tamerlane (Bet Now: $4.00) loves racing at Randwick and can easily bounce back. He was kept relatively safe in betting when racing a fortnight back in the Luskin Star. He was near Titanium Power in the run and tried his guts out but didn’t have the turn of foot that Opal Ridge produced. That was his first run in several weeks so he has room for improvement and will give a decent sight. Leading chance.

2 Oscar Zulu (Bet Now: $26.00) is one I wouldn’t totally dismiss. He was quite safe in betting when resuming two weeks back in the Luskin Star where he was near the speed throughout and just didn’t quite finish it off, beating one runner home behind Opal Ridge. He can be hit and miss at times but his best is good enough for a race like this, so I’d watch the market and see what it does.

10 Huesca (Bet Now: $8.50) for me in the get out. GaiBott trained gelding that was a game second two back at the midweeks at Warwick Farm before going to Rosehill three weeks ago where he found a bottomless deck and just struggled late behind Capo Strada. Back on firmer footing, should glide across to find the top and with control on speed, he’ll take beating.

13 Shipshape (Bet Now: $3.00) is a three year old that is heading in the right direction for James Cummings. He put together a couple of sharp wins on the bounce before going to the Scone Carnival when on speed and was hailed as the winner but was nabbed near the peg by Super Helpful. Zac Lloyd jumps back on, he should roll forward and prove to be a leading contender.

Long Shot

3 Spiranac (Bet Now: $23.00) is too good of a mare to ignore. She trialled up well prior to resuming two weeks back at Scone where on face value, she was plain, but given the race shape, she had no chance, so forgive and forget the run. Good second up record and has run well at Randwick previously in races far stronger than this. Dangerous.
